FIRST AID & TRAUMA AWARENESS TRAINING

REGISTRATION
First Aid Level 3 we are delighted to be able to offer this certified training which meets Health and Safety (First Aid) 1981 Regulations to be a first aider in a low-risk work environment. The course is not only designed for workplaces, the EFAW course is perfect for anybody looking to learn a life-saving skill.
Course content: Roles and responsibilities of a first aider, Assessing an incident, Managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, Recovery Position, Use of AED ( Defibrillator), Choking, Seizures, Shock, Wounds and bleeding, Minor injuries, Cuts, grazes, and bruises, Minor burns and scalds.

Trauma Awareness Level 1: We
have teamed up with Greater Together Manchester, to deliver this
brilliant course, which will inform and equip churches as they engage
with their local communities. Participants are expected to attend both
sessions at their chosen location. Rachel Horne (An Art Pyschotherapy
and Health Care Professional registered with HPCP, and working for
Greater Together Manchester) will be delivering this course.
Session one – Spaces and PlacesUnderstanding the intersection of trauma and mental health, Exploring the impact of childhood trauma on the developing brain, Delving into behaviour and attachment dynamics, Unpacking the relationship between trauma and resilience, Strategies for creating trauma-informed spaces and workplaces, Promoting workplace support and self-care.

Session two – Trauma-Informed Community Practitioner
This follow-up course is designed for those who completed the initial training. It explores trauma-informed approaches extensively, applying five core principles in community settings. Participants learn to assess organizations, create actionable plans, and manage secondary traumatic stress. This course enhances understanding of trauma-informed practices and emphasizes self-care. This course is designed to build upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the Trauma Awareness: Places & Spaces Level 1 training.

Mental Health Training
We recently secured funding to deliver certified Mental Health First Aid Training. We collaborated with BeWell who delivered the training in Chester, Stockport, and online. As a result, 46 people, both lay and clergy, working with vulnerable people from across the diocese of Chester were enabled to become qualified Mental Health First Aiders.
We hope to offer more training in the future, so watch this space!
